A second piece from Trace...

We're about to go into week 4 so here's another make to tempt you...

"For my second piece I decided to use the same colours and techniques of the wonderful distress paint as my journal page and also inks to create a tag with a pocket suitable for a gift card or as I have done a matching ATC with sentiment. The beauty of distress is you can use them for all sorts of projects, using just one colour family or blend different colours for great effects." Trace

This beautiful double-sided tag matches Trace's main make (see below) and makes a great holder for her ATC. Another fab' idea for you to consider if you haven't joined in the challenge already. We have just over a week left so come on, come and join us!

Have a great Easter holiday everyone! xxx

Using the linkie with images...

Morning everyone, hope you're safe and warm in this bitter weather!

A quick word about the linkie tool and picking up images from your url, I've answered several via email but there are still comments about it so please read on if it affects you...

If the linkie isn't finding images it is because you're using the url of a main page not the SPECIFIC url of the piece that includes the image. I had this same problem when I first started to use it on other challenge sites until someone explained to me that if I clicked on the exact post that contained the image the linkie would pick up the images there and allow you to choose which one. If you're pointing to a general page containing a lot of posts it will not give you the option of seeing the images there. You don't have to be using blogger, it can be a standard web page, Pinterest, Facebook, whatever, just make sure you have the url of the piece containing the SPECIFIC picture(s).For future reference you can find the InLinkz info HERE and I'll add it to the sidebar.

Have a great weekend folks and watch for another make VERY shortly.

A second piece from Brenda

"A 24 x 18 cm canvas shabby chic style using an image from Artistic Outpost and the Tattered Florals die. I built up lots of layers of text paper, texture paste, acrylic paints and perfect pearls mists as the base and added designer papers, a doiley and embellishments to finish it off." Brenda

Thanks Brenda, this beautiful canvas should inspire the most reticent to have a go and try your hand at creating something of your own. We still have 2 weeks until the closing date so there's plenty of time for you to summon up that courage and share your creative spirit with us!

A sneak peek...

A sneak peak of what Chris has blogged for Mothers' Day on Country View Crafts' own blog site... 'Mother Love'. Pop over to get a better view and some close ups, you can even have a go yourself!

The whole team is delighted with the response we've had so a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you out there in blogland who are supporting us! All the entries look fabulous and it's as well that the winner will be drawn at random because it would be extremely difficult to select just one winner.

May we wish you a fabulous weekend especially for those of you partaking in Mothers' Day, may your day be filled with love and laughter. A happy weekend to everyone and thanks again for all your support.

Launch of our new challenge site!!!

Country View Crafts are delighted to announce the opening of their new challenge site, Country View Challenges. We will be holding monthly challenges under the auspices of our talented design team with a £20 shop voucher, winner's button and guest DT spot for our one lucky winner (chosen at random). The Design Team (DT) will be taking turns at choosing their 3 favourites each month who will each receive a button of merit.

If that isn't enough, to celebrate the launch we are also offering a further special prize to promote the site so to learn more about it click HERE.

So, without more ado, let's announce this month's challenge which is:

'Pick and mix'

Yes, anything goes this month! We have Mothers' Day (UK) on March 10th, Easter at the end of the month and Spring around the corner so you PICK what you want to do and you can MIX your colours as you like because anything goes.

Here are some beautiful examples from our Design Team...

"With the new challenge blog in mind I've made a domino book that focuses on creating, making and learning."

"A tag from my 'Classics' trio... I love the vintage and distressed style and when I layer it makes things so much more interesting. I thought this would be a good example of our 'Pick and mix' challenge this month."

"A little hanging using Tim’s on the edge dies, Wendy’s Art Parts and stamps. The background was inked with Wild Honey Distress Stain which is just the most fabulous colour with Broken China and Peeled Paint Distress Markers on the flower."

"I love the distress palette and love the wonderful new addition of the distress paints , allowing the ability to play with paints and inks in coordinating colours that I love , create layers and add lots of water!"
Now you've seen an example of what our DT members have done it's over to YOU!!

Please folks, please, PLEASE read the rules before entering. Entries close at midnight London time on the last day of the month and the winners will be announced on the 10th April.

 Good luck everyone!
